Guest Post: 10 Things I Learned from Being a Mom of Twins

Here are some things I have experienced and learned by being a mom of twins. I understand being the parent of any baby is a challenging but rewarding job. I admire every parent for what they do, especially now that I am one. I have never experienced being a parent of a singleton (as opposed to twins/multiples, a new term I learned after having twins!) so I only know the life of being a twin mom, but I just wanted to share 10 funny, and some not so funny, facts about being one!

That Awkward Moment When…

Being the crazy person I am, I still choose to give my usual plan a try. After starting up the car, I quickly realized that taking a 25-minute drive to Target in 96-degree weather was probably not the best idea. Especially when my baby was red-faced and crying, strapped in her car seat and my shirt was soaking up giant droplets of sweat. That was a good time to count my losses, turn the car around, and drive home.

How to Overcome Defeat in Motherhood

Today I have the honor of writing my first guest post over at Mommy Outnumbered! A few months after I entered the blogging world, I met Yosh. She has created a beautiful blog full of practical parenting tips, honest thoughts on life, and glimpses into her wonderful Japanese culture. I feel honored and grateful that she contacted me… Continue reading How to Overcome Defeat in Motherhood

A Hello, Costco, and Toddler Life

I just wanted to pop in and let you all know that I’m still here! I’ve been sort of MIA this week because I’m actually working on a blog swap with an amazing blogger friend of mine. So stay tuned! It’s gonna be good!

In other news, Desirae is just entering into the stage of knowing what she wants, when she wants it, and finding new ways (tantrums included) to get it. Let me tell you, this girl is FULL of opinions. I like to say she gets that from her father, but the truth is, it’s allllllllllll me. For example, every morning she searches for the TV remote and brings it to me because she wants to watch Mickey Mouse Club House. If I don’t immediately comply, the world basically ends. I have a long few years ahead of me… Reasoning with a person who doesn’t actually speak is proving to be quite the challenge. Thankfully, she recently learned how to sign “please,” so at least that’s a step in the right direction.

Also, I went to Costco today. This is definitely not important information, but I’m feeling very happy about it, so I wanted the world to know. Since it’s Friday, there were samples everywhere, which always makes for a pleasant shopping trip. Well, as long as you can bust a move and beat everyone to the sample tables of course. You gotta be quick to avoid either waiting in line or losing your samples to that person who thinks it’s okay to devour the entire tray. Don’t give me those dirty looks. You all know what I mean… Not only that, I found some AWESOME new yoga pants while I was there. I officially want to wear these for the rest of my life. Plus, I can now comfortably fit my Costco food baby. Yoga pants and samples for the win!

Anyway, Friday is here! I have a very busy weekend ahead of me so I’m looking forward to having Aaron around to help take care of Desirae. Hopefully you have a relaxing weekend ahead of you, but I need to keep this short and go get my butt in gear! Before I leave, I know everyone can always use a good laugh. I saw this video today by The Break Womb, and it is HILARIOUS. For me, it’s timed perfectly with Desirae’s new-found independence in voicing her opinions. I’m pretty sure she would call this law firm if it actually existed.

Have a fabulous weekend mamas!
