I usually try to work on my blog while Desirae is napping. She still takes two naps a day, so one of those naps I can set aside as “me time,” and the other I can spend working on chores around the house that I can’t accomplish with her around. (Though, I’m not really sure if there are any chores I can actually complete with her following me everywhere.) I know this “me time” nap won’t last long, as I’m sure all you seasoned mothers are already thinking to yourselves. But having a moment to myself reminds me to enjoy the small things in motherhood.
Desirae just woke up from her nap. I know this because I can hear her talking to herself through the baby monitor. I have a video monitor, which I love because I can always check on what she’s doing. Right now she is sitting up in her crib, fiddling with her teddy bear, and laughing. She’s just sitting in there laughing to herself, and it’s the most adorable thing in the world. (Cue all the smiling, crying, heart emoji texts to my husband.) I don’t even want to get her out of her crib because I’m just enjoying watching her and listening to her giggles.
I love being a mom, and it’s usually the little things that make motherhood great.
